Dr. Virginia E. Schein
Dr. Virginia E. Schein is a leading work and organizational psychologist with over 50 years of experience as a professor, consultant, manager and advocate for social and economic justice in the workplace. She has been a professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Baruch College of the City University of New York, Case Western Reserve University, Yale University and Gettysburg College. She was also Director of Personnel Research for MetLife in New York City.
Dr. Schein is internationally recognized as a leading researcher on women in management. She identified the Think-Manager-Think Male phenomenon as a major barrier to women’s advancement in management in 1973. Her widely cited research spans four decades and five continents.

In February of 2017, Dr. Virginia Schein participated in a panel discussion held in conjunction with the 55th Session of the United Nations
Commission for Social Development at UN Headquarters in New York.
Her presentation was entitled: “Decent Work, Not Just a Job, as the Pathway out of Poverty: Voices of Low-Income Women in Nicaragua.”

Nations Headquarters in New York as a representative of the Centre for Socio-Eco-Nomic Development (CSEND), an ECOSOC- accredited
NGO based in Geneva. She also participated on a panel in conjunction with this year’s Commission.

In January of 2019, Dr. Virginia Schein traveled to Chester, England to deliver an Invited Keynote Address at the British Psychological Society, Division
of Occupational Psychology Annual Conference. She also gave a seminar at the University of Edinburgh Business School in Edinburgh, Scotland.
